  • PSA: If you block the `claude` user on GitHub, you'll get a warning every time you view a repo with that user in its commit history.

Copilot reportedly can appear in participant list for PRs despite never partucipating in which may cause false alarms with that approach.

  • The devs of ejabberd made an "I can't believe it's not Discord" client for XMPPgithub.com/processone/fluux-messenger

    So, currently:
    - Doesn't explicitly support other server software apart from ejabberd, and doesn't seem to work with server I normally use. (may be a bug with specific release) Couldn't quickly test it because of that.
    - Used LLM in early stages of development as indicated by blogpost, doesn't clearly disclose it in repo.
    - Is based on web framework, though instead of Electron it's Tauri which uses webkit or native Windows webview depending on platform.
    - No guilds, voip, etc, so discord theming is kinda just a visual flare and marketing trick.

I don't know if it was really needed to make it Discord themed apart from hype, but more xmpp clients that at least (hopefully) work wouldn't hurt.

  • Honestly Matrix E2EE and federation is a bit like cryptocurrency (without going into all its other social problems).

I'd add integrated Jitsi Meet (or VoIP software on par with it and Discord, with screenshare, video, etc.) to that idea.

Not everyone needs it, of course, so it may be optional, but in my expirience it's the hardest to replace part of Discord.
