@Strandjunker there’s also the part where getting digital medical records meant that lots of preexisting conditions that recruits could lie about then suddenly develop after training were getting caught up in filters.

As the news is reporting, sadly there was a terrible plane crash at LaGuardia Airport at 23:38 local last night.@chillybot @adamshostack @paul_ipv6 @boblord @wendynather the best incident report ive read was written by someone who was given zero guidance on how to investigate, but he was previously an aviator, so he just did what he knew.

Why don't all militaries everywhere just ban fitness apps that connect to the internet?@metacurity because it is *really* difficult to be the app police when it comes to people’s personal devices.

Some people call him Maurice ‘cus he speaks of the pompatus of love.@Alien_Sunset the literal worst case scenario is you make someone go “pfffft I can do better than THAT” which, yay inspiring others!

Some people call him Maurice ‘cus he speaks of the pompatus of love.@Alien_Sunset as someone who submits to local fairs: unless your local fair is Very Large or Very Competitive, it’s *fine*.
There’s also entire categories that exist that get almost no submissions, so doing the “less done” crafts can still get good placements (eg at my very local fair there’s tons of photography entries, but almost no calligraphy or block printing)

When I started in security, one of the prevailing attitudes was "The weakest link in the chain will always be the human."@neurovagrant one of these days I need to sit down and write a blog post about how I have a blade that is cheap as hell, but more safe than any other blade I’ve owned, and how that relates to… everything.

I really wish the administration would stop interfering with my elections course syllabus.@mattblaze it was lots of fun the semester I got to teach Cyber Policy, Strategy, and Operations because some days included “hey we have a new National Defense Strategy as of a couple hours ago - let’s ditch today’s lesson and see what it says!!

We're discussing arranging a 'future of detection engineering' panel at #BSidesLuxembourg2026, but unfortunately the only pureplay-DE submissions we have on the topic are from men.@BSidesLuxembourg @Dio9sys not sure your travel desires buuuuut

Been thinking about someone's observation that one of the reasons so many people do so much in Excel is that it's actually a *phenomenally* observable programming system and lets people do things they otherwise couldn't.@waltman @wordshaper what I was about to add - its a tool that your users actually *have*.

I could joke about how real estate agents are writing the outage reports but I'm kinda not in the mood.@munin depending on the type of damage, might need even need war clause (at least for the cyber policy. May still be useful for property and such). Infrastructure exclusion (essentially, if your downtime is due to a loss of power or such) would also be worth keeping an eye on.
