Their use of "debate" is very revealing because the ppl in the thread they initially responded were not in a debate. They were in pain. But Black pain is always up for debate and discussion on here.

So, you sit with that and make it your own problem, please, instead of implying you know how we ought to react to slurs.

If you are not Black you especially have no business suggesting someone should feel less hurt hearing it; even if you are, that's still not your place.
Surely, you can understand the harm caused by an older white man referring to multiple Black people as slurs, especially one laden with a violent historical context, regardless of intention.
@rochelimit "Embarrassing" is an odd replacement for the more accurate "harmful."
@ZekuZelalem This is sort of mind boggling because my understanding is that Black Jews, many if not most with Ethiopian heritage, who live in Israel are treated as second class citizens. Obviously they must be tailoring the journalists' experiences in some way, for them not to notice this, but I guess I would think that the Black people who actually live there would have had something to say by now.
