So, after 6 years of telling my GP that I am certain I have POTS and being told by them that they don't think I do, I have finally received an official diagnosis from a cardiologist.Add this to a long list of diagnoses that they didn't think I had until a specialist confirmed that I actually did.I get it, I do, I get that a GP is a *general* practitioner, they're not specialised, so I don't entirely fault them for not seeing it themselves, but for 6 goddamned years they have delayed and denied my healthcare, instead of referring me to a specialist, because they didn't believe me.It's difficult to tell if it's been because of misogyny, transphobia, transmisogyny, ableism, ageism, a combination, or some other bias I'm not thinking of, but either way my already low trust in my GP has dropped well below zero these past 6 years.*Every* official diagnosis I currently have started with my GP not believing me, and a specialist later confirming it.
