Okay, so can someone please explain to me why keepandroidopen.com is suddenly trending all of a sudden again? The site claims that the only statement made about allowing users to sideload was an obscure tweet, but I think this official Google blog post from November 12 of 2025 would disagree. It's a lot of generic corprit BS, talking about why they want to implement it, but it explicitly mentions implementing a solution for hobbiests and smaller devs, so...what exactly is the problem here? @jscholes @fastfinge Yeah, that is actually an excellednt idea that I had not considered. Mastodon posts can, afterall, be HTML, so we should render it as such, or render the markdown into HTML.

I now officially have code in wxWidgets! There was a really dumb bug where enabling dark mode for apps would cause your check boxes and radio buttons to show up as just raw buttons to screen readers. I got tired of this, sent in a quick PR, got some feedback from the wxWidgets maintainers, cleaned everything up, and it's now merged! @Scott @alexhall I like winamp-style keys, my current bindings are: alt shift c for play/pause, alt shift arrows for volume and seeking. I don't bind any other keys though, keep it minimal.

@alexhall Oh I fully agree about them being nice in certain contexts, I love one for foobar 2000 for example. I also wouldn't reject a pull request adding one to Fedrta, but I'm not motivated to do it myself.

@alexchapman @alexhall Yeah, I can add a minimize to system tray option to Fedra, but for what it's worth you can customize the window hotkey in the options dialog.

@alexhall The invisible interface is a decently commmon request, and I could possibly have my mind changed on this, but there are a few reasons I didn't add one and don't like them. Firstly, the distraction. I do not need the ability to be able to repeatedly press a button from any window and scroll social media, especially during work. I quite like my job and would like to keep it. Secondly, Microsoft seems hell-bent on making it impossible to have a solid invisible interface across windows updates, we're already at the point of having windows alt ctrl be the only real combo of keys we can use on Windows 11, and what happens when that goes away? Third, it's Windows only. The Mac and Linux don't do this/don't let you do it, and the goal is to have cross-platform Fedra someday soon.
