@glyph @cabel Yeah... that's how the original 30pin iphone and ipad docks apple sold were made. plug 30 pin cable into the back of the dock and slap the device on the connector sticking out the top.
@glyph @cabel Whatever it is, that port must go to a dock connector that the phone sits on.
