Well #Trump's bullshit has reached my backyard (the Gordie Howe bridge is visible from my house).#Canada tried to get America to contribute to the bridge, but because the traffic problems were manufactured by US border patrol slowing crossings into the #USA the backups were 99% Canada's problem & and the leverage was against us so Canada reluctantly paid the bill needing only the land on the US side which Michigan provided.
Not only did America get the better deal here (a fabulous new border crossing for a major trade route) but they were also jerks about it.

To be perfectly clear... #USA protectionist border nonsense after 9/11 caused backups of trucks that caused horrible problems into Windsor (the city across from Detroit). #Ontario was so desperate for a second bridge (the 1st is crumbling & owned by a dirtbag corporation) that #Canada footed the entire bill for this incredible new bridge.
