@eowyn if you're in the Works database, you can file a claim; if you're not, you can't. It's very simple to search. I encourage everyone to try: https://www.anthropiccopyrightsettlement.com/

If you know someone who's an author, especially if they're older, maybe wrote non-fiction, aren't necessarily plugged in, may have moved addresses, maybe is deceased and has heirs who could make claims... -

That's exactly the kind of case I think may be slipping through the cracks.

If you know someone who's an author, especially if they're older, maybe wrote non-fiction, aren't necessarily plugged in, may have moved addresses, maybe is deceased and has heirs who could make claims...WHO I THINK MIGHT STILL NEED TO FILE CLAIMS
—older authors
—both fiction and non-fiction, esp academic writers
—maybe published through a small defunct press
—maybe their works were written long ago
—aren't necessarily plugged in/haven't heard of the lawsuit
—may have moved addresses since registering copyright
—maybe are deceased and have heirs who could make claimsI hope it's just that folks haven't gotten around to filing yet! But please reach out to your author friends (or their heirs!).
