Measuring things in "tokens" feels like measuring things in a "foot" or an "inch."@zak it’s just like digital currency in an MMO - just abstracted enough to make it difficult to know how much it costs in real money.

Starting to wish there was an official @signalapp cli client.@zak @signalapp I could get behind that. Uh Maybe.
On the one hand it could be useful. On the other hand I definitely support the intentional decision to not have a public API.
I can just imagine it rapidly descending into just another wasteland like Telegram etc - and I end up deleting my account because we start seeing Signal Bots or the like.

All of the photos that I took with my camera on Sunday were apparently corrupted because that 128GB micro SD card, while technically compliant, was not from a reputable brand.@zak have you tried any recovery tools? I always had pretty good luck with photorec, and DiskDrill.

I'm as pro-gun control as it gets.@zak This is especially crazy to me because:
If you know anything about 3D printers you immediately realize that it’s just not enforceable
It doesn’t really address the fact that (in most states) it’s perfectly legal to build your own firearm from scratch if you want to.
For example, if I happen to have the right tools and raw materials for some basic metal working, I can construct a firearm from scratch and it’s perfectly legal in most states (even the states that do have bans on 3D printed firearms). Even the states that have restrictions mostly only require that you have a serial number on the weapon.
If someone wants a firearm off the books - they’re going to find a way.
I am also very pro-gun control. But this approach makes no sense and incorrectly places the burden on 3D printer manufacturers and members of the maker** community.
