CIRCLE WITH A DOT

The Red Edge (Semanga superba) spotted at Lornie Park Connector, Singapore on 22 March 2026. A lovely, uncommon butterfly with an unmistakable red edge on its hindwings, hence its common name. I haven't seen it for several years.

A Great Crested Grebe (Podiceps cristatus) spotted on Lake Wanaka, New Zealand on 31 Dec 2025. Found worldwide, the bird is renowned for having a complicated courtship display that includes giving of weeds and synchronised water dancing.
