Dear Linux newbie, remember:
- It doesn't really matter what distro you install as long as it runs the software you really use
- There's no better distro, all are just different approaches (and most are actually forks)
- Whatever aesthetic feature (like a desktop environment, apps) you're basing decisions on, you can change it or tweak it later anyway
- Customizing stuff isn't mandatory, you can go with the defaults and still be a chad, chill
- Learn some Bash, watch some tutorials, try it on a VM. Don't just blame the OS every time
And remember: there's nothing wrong with asking for help or learning stuff. At least you don't need to pay for a subscription 
(If you ever wanna do that, just donate to the projects you like, not to a corporation
