You can't build the new without also fighting the old.I would like to believe it doesn't matter how we got into a mess and only focus on how we fix it, but that "how" will gleefully subvert, sabotage, or resist the fix if it is ignored. Technology that should improve lives is subverted or sequestered. Renewable energy, for example. Preventing that is part of building something new.This is a common fallacy of libertarian and techbro arguments.
