My response to this is to stubbornly stick to old ways of production, ways which are slower but which I have far more confidence in, both in terms of future maintainability, and in creating something people might actually care about. The process is part of the production, and you lose something when you breeze past it at 60mph on your way to the finish line
It also doesn’t require me to make my future productivity totally beholden to a big tech subscription, an independence which I value highly

On the one hand, you could argue it’s karma. After all, we spent the last few decades in tech automating lots of things that changed other people’s jobs in the name of efficiency, and I’m sure that sometimes that made those jobs less enjoyable. Now, perhaps change has come for us.
I still think long term maintenance is going to be untenable, but maybe that won’t stop it happening anyway
