@jscholes The worst thing about Apple is that none of their bugs seem to affect even 20% of users, so every time you complain about something, you get gaslit by half the blind community.

Siri: Looks like Simon's Keys are in Nanaimo.Gosh, what would I do without this voice assistant to narrow down the location of my housekeys to the city where I live.
FYI, they were under something on my desk, and as soon as I actually used the Find My app, the Airtag made a sound and proximity finding worked. Siri is just useless. -
I found an iOS app that can play audio while other audio is playing.I found an iOS app that can play audio while other audio is playing. It's called EverMusic, and it's pretty accessible and feature-complete. It can play local files, connect to network devices and cloud services, and play internet streams. It also has an equalizer that includes a preamplifier, so if you want to play a radio stream at -24 DB while your audiobook plays at normal volume, this is the app for you.
It doesn't do this simultaneous playback by default, mind you. You need to go to Settings, Audio Playback, and change the "Audio Output Mode" to "Mixed". At that point, you lose the ability to control playback with a headset or from the lock screen, but if you start audio playback from another app, your headset and lock screen controls will apply to that app, and EverMusic will keep playing in the background no matter what you do.
There are also at least two versions of the app with slightly different feature sets, so if you like the app and you want to use it for normal playback as well, you can always just use EverMusic Pro for that, and keep the free EverMusic for your background playback. I haven't tested this, but it might be possible to run both of them at once.
Coming from Windows where you can casually load up 12 media players and send them all to different audio devices, it feels strange to be excited about an app developer taking the time to thoughtfully work around an audio stack limitation, but I'll take the win and give the developer my thanks. -
I have an account on Quentin C's gameroom.I have an account on Quentin C's gameroom. I apparently don't remember the password to it.
Whenever I try to enter my e-mail address intot he reset page, the page reloads with all of my information cleared and no success or error message.
When I enter my username, I get asked for a verification code, which hasn't arrived in either of the inboxes I might have used for the account.
When I try to use the contact form, I get an error saying my message was blocked by the anti-spam filter.
When I try to create an account, no matter which e-mail address I use, I get an error saying "Invalid email address."
So that settles it. I must be in the bad place. -
Are any other iPhone users finding that face ID is particularly bad all of a suddenAre any other iPhone users finding that face ID is particularly bad all of a sudden?
Mine fails more often now, and sometimes it only takes one failure before the passcode prompt comes up.
Sometimes I get a success sound as though the phone recognized my face, but the passcode prompt still comes up.
I know not everyone has a high success rate with face ID for various reasons, but it was pretty good for me until only a couple of weeks ago. -
#NerdFact@randahl I'm probably cynical, but I think there's a reason all your examples are pop artists. Fans *want* to be on a first-name basis with their favourite music-making personality. Scientists and politicians and business leaders don't do this.
