@Jirikiha @thomasfuchs This is a terrible timeline all around. I was just thinking the other day how much less stress and anger I'd be feeling right now if Kamala had won, in fact. Although, not to start shit, but if I never have to hear or see anything related to Joss Whedon again, that at least will be a good thing.

@thomasfuchs Oh good... it did, in fact, mean exactly that. Wow. WTF.

@thomasfuchs I see the words of this headline and understand the words individually, but I'm not quite sure my brain is able to wrangle meaning out of the whole sentence. Does this mean he literally sticks his fingers in other people's noses? Because I was clearly taught in kindergarten you can pick your friends and pick your nose, but you can't pick your friend's nose.

@alice Over the years, I've seen this extensively. It's especially bad towards women, but they definitely do it to each other, as if every conversation or meeting is a cock fight. I absolutely hate it, so now I hardly talk at all to most people and I intentionally try to listen to people who are actually trying to say something, as opposed to these guys who just suffer from diarrhea of the mouth. Now, I just instantly judge them as intellectually stagnant (to put it politely) and move on.

@dansup I'm not a coder, though I write SQL scripts for work, but what you're describing in regards to AI isn't learning or "being a coder". Taking bits and pieces from elsewhere to form your website is hugely different from telling some LLM thing to do all the work for you with no understanding whatsoever of how it actually works. At least cutting and pasting code requires you to figure out how it goes together and you learn iteratively. Using AI is the opposite of learning.
