big ice storm incoming, Toronto
but tonight is going to be mostly sunny, so you still have a chance to see something really cool
@world_beauty astrophotography? i don't think so
according to wikipedia, "No high-resolution images of Makemake's surface exist because it has not been visited up close by a space probe."
he: hey, how's your project with the superglue coming along?

by the way, it's been four years since the flag-waving "cowboy convoy" disrupted life in Ottawa for a couple weeks
i think it's safe to say that the stench is finally gone, and ordinary Canadians (left, right, or centre) can reclaim our flag
at 5:47pm tonight in Toronto, the sun will set directly over the east-west street grid, creating an effect known as Torontohenge (named after Stonehenge)
the effect is more dramatic amidst downtown towers
there are four Torontohenges each year --
Feb 15 (+) sunset
Apr 19 (+) sunrise
Aug 23 (–) sunrise
Oct 25 (–) sunset
(+) good pics for a week or so after
(–) good pics for a week or so before
while today is mostly cloudy, keep an eye on that weather forecast, and look for an opportunity later this week

i had no idea Line 5 was so ridiculously deep below Line 1
505 Balliol Street #Davisville #Toronto
built in 1889, the Page House and Grocery Store was a post office and neighbourhood convenience store for decades, narrowly escaping demolition and granted heritage status in 2018 with the help of councillor
Josh Matlow
latest plans call for moving the house to the centre of the lot, severing the lot into two, and building two semi-detached homes in the rear, each of which gets half the heritage house
see https://www.toronto.ca/legdocs/mmis/2022/cc/bgrd/backgroundfile-229548.pdf
what's the first thing you notice?
this car has sat here for several weeks without moving, completely snowed in by that huge snow dump back in January
surely it doesn't belong to the house it's sitting in front of, with that freshly cleared driveway
so whose is it?
question for all you #Toronto city planning geeks -- just how much does it cost to store your private vehicle on public streets for weeks at a time?
Bradford is so annoying and disrespectful to staff!
also, is it just me or is he sporting some kind of hitler stache?
