  • Browsing with js off has not been as bad as I expected, just the occasional Anubis check, but you can turn it off afterwards

@migratory@jorts.horse this is great! Added it as a bookmarklet to add it instantly to pages that don't load.

Got a bug report that map didn't work well on linux phones, so I took this opportunity to redo all the preferences windows.

They were originally made with llm magic™, and it wasn't great. It wasn't even relm4, just raw gtk4.

So the two good things is that now all the code in map is human made, and (at least according to what I see in phoc) it should work better with linux phones.

A release will probably happen later in the week after I have to test everything that changed.

@migratory@jorts.horse @ruben I don’t think so! Is it a url parameter that can trick pages into serving static content?

The one thing I’ve been more aware of is how many places run discourse, because of the immediate white screen of death.

  • I’ve gotten really good at almost installing os/2 on qemu tonight.10th time’s the charm?

We did it! ... Couldn't get those mythical high resolutions to work, but it boots and it has networking.

I added the steps I followed to a wiki, where I'll be adding my experience virtualizing a few different OSes that I want to try.

  • MPD continues to spread in the household

MPD continues to spread in the household!

Today I discovered MacMPD, which means I can control the music from the mac mini 😄 (That just leaves the SE/30 unable to control the music library for now)

Not everything works: for some reason time and artwork aren't being sent correctly, but the feature I miss the most is being able to control outputs. However, Audion does play the mp3 stream.

I checked the source, and it looks like relatively friendly RealBASIC 5.5! I've never done basic, but this could be a good chance to try.

Got excited seeing Anytype in flathub, but still not availablef or arm. That's one of three apps that I still have to manage manually (the others are signal and bitwarden)

Made the switch frome homebridge to homeassistant and I'm pretty happy with it so far. Not doing anything fancy, but I can now control the smart devices from most of my devices.

on the macos-first vs multiplatform. At least my freelancing work is still macos-first. I didn't like invoice ninja, so I'm sticking with GrandTotal for my invoices.

I'm in a linux peak of my usual flip-flop between multiplatform or macos-first workflows.

this time giving taskwarrior another go. I replicated my Things setup and I just love the command line interface for task.

ios is clearly the odd one out, because taskchamp isn't that great (yet!). I'll see how android fares.

Do I even need all the complex aspects of task management in my phone? Maybe it's just an ingest and glance vehicle.

Dragon Quest VII is one of my favorites in the series: It's like jumping into a collection of fairy tales. It's charming and fun.

The new dual-vocation thing fixes my biggest gripe with the game, and makes it a lot more interesting.
