Astronomers directly observed two forming planets around star WISPIT 2!
Using ESO's SPHERE & GRAVITY+ instruments, they confirmed WISPIT 2c – a gas giant 10× Jupiter's mass, only 5 million years old.
This is only the second known system (after PDS 70) where we see planets being born in real time.
