CIRCLE WITH A DOT

Congress could demonstrate that it is capable of behaving like it's supposed to by passing a simple, easy law with broad bipartisan support. I propose a law standardizing year-round Daylight Saving Time! Only 12% of people want to keep changing our clocks twice a year, and there's a strong public preference for permanent DST. If congress passed a simple law containing this and only this, no omnibus filibuster budget reconciliation BS, wouldn't that help the legislators get reelected??

@gcvrsa I'm hopeful that most of its problems can be easily fixed in the future! But it is really bad today.

Isn't it kind of bizarre that we give so much oxygen to completely nebulous and abstract ideas like "the debate over the death of Western Judeo Christian Values" or "the debate about whether we have crossed the line into fascism yet"

I'm much more interested learning about and discussing the practical steps we could take to fix the structural flaws in our system of governance. What am I missing?
