@randahl If the IOC was serious about eliminating politics, it would not allow the leaders of the countries to attend - just athletes and trainers and family.

One important factor is to avoid connectors that have an existing well known purpose if your signal is incompatible with that purpose.
For example, mains voltage on something that looks like a speaker spring terminal, or 20 VDC on a USB A connector.
