@aral that's how you prevent a platform from becoming a nazi bar. You don't just kindly ask your guests to cover their swastika tattoos while they're in the bar.

@Pepijn @brahms are they part of a bigger group? You could use 4 of these to serve as legs to some form of a raised platform or enclosure (maybe to ensure the flow of air underneath)

@Pepijn they look a bit like doorknobs, although depending on the scale of the picture they'd have very small handles or very big threads.

@gspeed0689 maybe not bacon, but there's a place with nice waffles and beer (and a strawberry vending machine) about a kilometre or two ahead!

@Pepijn that was the Bundestag, when I visited Berlin 20 years ago. I vaguely recall that the rest of the building wasn't as easily accessible back then. I've cycled past the French parliament quite often when I lived in Paris, but never bothered visiting.

@Pepijn do rooftop-only visits count (which is kind of a giveaway as to which parliament I've been to)?? I grew up as far away from Paris as you can be while still being on the continental part of France, so school visits to l'Assemblée Nationale weren't something we did. The only assembly rooms I've been inside of were the UNESCO and a couple city councils.

@danbrotherston @jon unlike the recycling centre where (at least in my municipality which is one of the 10 biggest cities in the supposedly bike-friendly Netherlands) you can only enter by car (no walk-ins, no bike-ins and, although the municipality offers free removal of bulk at the doorstep, there are some garbage categories like paint and chemicals where trees no alternative).

@aral many French newspapers (La Voix du Nord just as an example) also have these options so both sides of the Channel seem willing to stretch the meaning of tthe GDPR.

@stux some of them are very active on that toxic cesspool of a social media that's Nextdoor. Or maybe some of them are part of a WhatsApp powered spying ring. You just need to find the one person who knows how to add people to the buurtapp

@hazelweakly I miss the part where they crossed the road a few seconds earlier, but I'm happy to see families that take road safety seriously!
