nice! For nvi users, no patch needed just add to your shell profile:

    export EXINIT='source ~/.config/nvi/nexrc'

EXINIT is the standard ex/vi init variable, works across nvi and traditional vi implementations.

Just make sure ~/.nexrc and ~/.exrc don't exist, otherwise nvi reads those first and ignores EXINIT. #Vim #nvi #XDG

    GNU ed 1.22.5 released
The standard Unix line editor got a minor update. Two small fixes:

    • Improved memory allocation calculation (uses sizeof on actual array element instead of explicit type)
    • Better error message: filenames ending in '/' now report "Invalid filename" instead of "Is a directory"
The sources can be downloaded from http://ftpmirror.gnu.org/ed/
