@StripeyYena yes, i have the same problem with users 
i am trying to convince them to check and in case postpone the updates, or do the whole routine themselves.
Possibly i will start making big motivational posters: “Did you check the Windows Updates?”

“Write into the instrument log book”

When we plan some longer experimental session, I pause the updates for few weeks. Once that is done, update and restart. Pause again.
