Is it that the caps have short threads, so they are free to move out very soon when unscrewing?
I'm thinking this is probably a potential issue on other brands and models too, so I'd like to be aware of the root cause.

Mild steel in extreme conditions have a corrosion of around 100 dog years per microfurlong, but in dry indoor climates it will be as slow as 1000 dog years per microfurlong.
