@VE7WYC absolutely. i think the problem is they view the deliverable as the written object, when in fact the deliverable is the **thought that went into** the written object. that's what writing is: it's not words on a page, it's thought. writing without thought is worthless. what they are providing is a facsimile of the deliverable.

weird how no one talks about crypto as a medium of exchange anymore.@jkb haha they've been trying that one for awhile now, lfg! went to a talk about it at Mozilla Festival. saw someone somewhere compare it to perpetual motion machines, and it definitely has that vibe.

weird how no one talks about crypto as a medium of exchange anymore.@jkb IT'S THE SAME GUYS lol, every time, you go back earlier in their X history or look at their previous startup and it was always a blockchain thing! SAM ALTMAN IS STILL DOING BLOCKCHAIN THINGS lmao

this is why i actually kind of oppose fully remote work.god, this is so fucking true, it's so good to see someone finally saying it. as a "junior" (ie - someone who will probably never find a job in software lol) this is why i absolutely avoid applying to jobs that indicate you will be required to use AI. what's the point? your job as a junior is to learn, and AI doesn't do that.

this is why i actually kind of oppose fully remote work.(also, "the office" as a built space often sucks, they can definitely improve upon that, but that's a fixable problem)

this is why i actually kind of oppose fully remote work.imo the real reason people (especially Americans) hate going to the office is their cities suck ass. yeah, if you have to drive an hour to your office, that does suck! when i was an intern here, i spent 20min on a bicycle riding through a beautiful landscape to get to my office and it was the best part of my day. for lunch, i had a dozen options. in the evening, i could stop for a beer on the way home. it was **great** and i look forward to doing it again.

this is why i actually kind of oppose fully remote work.this is why i actually kind of oppose fully remote work. i understand that if you're established in your career and have a family, it's great for you, but that's because remote work wasn't a thing when you were coming up, so your career has already benefited from the advantages of working in an office. remote work is **really** bad for people who are just starting careers. https://www.zacsweers.dev/forklifts-require-training/
