@Ashedryden I got an email out of the blue from a Ruby friend in the US, someone I've not been in touch with in maybe 15 years, letting me know the positive impact I've had in their life. Absolutely floored me. 🥹

They also noted they're trying to lean into expressing gratitude to others in these trying times, and I appreciate that nudge as well.

@jessta @plasticine I guess having those conversations is a fast-tracked view into the ethics of a company? But yeah, to have your/our livelihoods contingent on such a requirement is a depressing state of affairs. Hoping you’re able to find a good place soon.

@plasticine yeah, I'm not sure if writing that post will give me an injection of patience for others - the enthusiasm from so many people I have respected for years is jarring.

But I know there's also plenty of us taking this other path - particularly here on Mastodon, and there's _some_ solace in that.

I'll probably share the post on LinkedIn at some point, I wonder what the reception will be like there…
