Sorry to keep saying this, but #snac2 is pretty awesome. Thanks to @stefano@bsd.cafe (aka @stesnac@snac.bsd.cafe) for this instance, and thanks to all the BSD users who have been posting about it over the past many months.

Yesterday was quite the day!@peteorrall@bsd.cafe Where did you buy the battery? Amazon is the worst place. If that's where you got it, I would return it and buy from a reputable 3rd party seller, or from the laptop manufacturer. The sellers on Amazon are really bad when it comes to laptop batteries. Last one I bought was non-functional. Now I always buy from a known battery retailer.

Yesterday was quite the day!@peteorrall@bsd.cafe That's a troubling situation. What happens if you boot with the old battery or no battery? Maybe disconnecting and reconnecting the CMOS battery will jump-start it.
I just worked on an HP laptop that doesn't have a CMOS battery. Never saw that before.

This #LibreOffice bug, where trying to create or open a password-protected file crashes the application, is what kept me from running #FreeBSD on my laptop (before that hardware died last month). This #LibreOffice bug, where trying to create or open a password-protected file crashes the application, is what kept me from running #FreeBSD on my laptop (before that hardware died last month). I was able to keep running #OpenBSD (where LibreOffice doesn't crash) until the laptop gave up and wouldn't run at all. https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=289266
