@vollaficationist @guilg @GrapheneOS May I have an explanation why a new centralised verification through a new API built on the Android hardware attestation API is a better solution? I'm genuinely curious because to me it sounds exactly like Google's solution with a different entity in control.

@nateb 99.8% of the tech "journalism" is just blatant advertisement.

I've seen with my own eyes that the SOC caught xyz activity by pure luck but because the logs came from a tool which was just purchased the CISO immediately credited it to the tool.
In reality it had nothing to do with it.

Lot of good points on proactive measures you could take.
I've found extremely hard to pass zero trust, least privilege and proactive measures through the business.
Most companies don't have good cyber security practices but are very happy to spend money on snake oil and call it a day.

Sure the technology advanced in the past 10-20 years but the ways you can utilise and use your phones are more and more limited.
Just try to do the same things on your phone today what you've done on it in the earl 2010s.

I have a Google Pixel Watch. Not joking without sign-in and cloud sync you cannot use the basic functions.
Why am I not allowed to track my workout? Surely it wouldn't exhaust the storage that quickly.
I don't even ask why I'm not allowed to push MP3 file onto it. This is the dystopia we live in. Corps own, abuse and exploit you and you ask for more.

I've just bought a NFC ring myself and trying to find to do some cool with it. This is a great use case for it.
