@EllenInEdmonton I’m giggling a bit at the predicament and of being “talked down to” (their use of informal speech to a stranger who is also older than them) as according to the assumed rules of a non-native language you are both learning and practicing. I would have been quite perplexed as to how to appropriately respond. Ah, the joys of language learning.
