We could just scrap TSA and go back to having airports & airlines be responsible for their own security. We wouldn’t have this chaos when there’s a government funding gap, and as a nice perk we’d ditch a lot of time-consuming theater that adds little meaningful security benefit.

This is ludicrous.This is ludicrous. The charge may be the same, but the facts are utterly different. This is the sort of thing you say when you’re looking for an excuse to capitulate without it seeming like capitulation. Nobody familiar with both cases could seriously claim they’re remotely analogous.
