The US news media is failing the public in a lot of ways. This is just one. A media that is owned and controlled by billionaires serves only billionaires.

@wdlindsyI have to wonder if the leadership in the US Catholic Church is waking up to fact that the GOP conservative allies in their anti-abortion crusade are also their biggest adversaries in trying to grow the Church. The GOP is, at best, driving away and, at worse, locking up and deporting parishioners. Some Catholics slowly left the Church that we saw was out of alignment with the teachings of Christ. What has changed now is the GOP is directly attacking the Latino community that is or was the only growing demographic in the US. I am hearing of parishes, in Latino communities, that were vibrant a year ago that now have empty masses because people fear leaving their homes. This is different than a few people leaving because of a disagreement and is hitting the Church in its wallet.
