@VE2UWY yeah, they went to the trouble of putting climate change in the name of the ministry, and presumably climate change will lead to more extreme weather justifying a backup for when the internet goes down. And just in general, a lot of the commentary I've seen this week suggests Weatheradio was still being received in places with limited or no cell coverage.
I like the idea of the weather band and have the ability to receive it, but I never thought about it much beyond that until this week

On an unrelated topic, do you have any thoughts on the imminent closure of Weatheradio Canada? I was thinking of writing a blog post about it, and would be interested to have an expert opinion
@jfmezei @heliomass now that I think about it, I'm pretty sure it was when I was looking at these old CN commuter timetables a couple years ago that I discovered that Monkland existed. So much fascinating history 
@heliomass haha, I wonder… We know the STM seems to resent the very existence of other transit agencies to a certain extent, this might just be a case of not being bothered enough to have up-to-date information on station names.
In a similar vein, in Cartierville, there are several stops that announce that the bus will be calling at Bois-de-Boulognes station, as if there were multiple Boulognes and not just the one. But that might be just be a case of standard Quebec spelling difficulties

@heliomass I'm pretty interested in this too. My thought is that at some point I will reactivate my subscription in order to be able to buy the thing, or I'll inevitably find one used, in anticipation of the future when all of our Switches are jailbroken and running custom firmware.
There is already a Virtual Boy emulator for the 3DS that works quite well from what I understand, and I would expect something similar for the Switch when it's no longer a relevant contemporary console.
