Patriarchy hurts everyone.@alice was thinking about the very loud shirts and socks and dresses i often see bro-types wearing, that look playful and fun, but when you talk to them, super unpleasant vibes
to me the darkfunny/tragedy is the overall cultural situation that doesn't give consistent validation / attention and space for peeps to be themselves... instead e.g. locked-down business drone some of the time, and then wiiiild and waaacky golf shirt Fun Guy gets smushed out
but without that framing, tho, nothing wrong
-
never fucking forgive them for what they've done to the computer@selectric riffing: the universal machine offers potentially perfect reflection... its grotesque images aren't a flaw in the mirror

Patriarchy hurts everyone.@alice LOL i forget where i read it the other day but the like "desperation to be *noticed*"... funny and tragic

Cloudflare's CEO: "How I Choose Which Cloudflare Employees to Replace With AI" https://www.wsj.com/opinion/how-i-choose-which-cloudflare-employees-to-replace-with-ai-40a197e5?st=JGJffd&reflink=desktopwebshare_permalink@cwebber why are these people so boring? "i optimize for the stupid simplest metric possible, ROAR!"
zooming out or squinting or something it seems like a cult worshipping ignorance
super hard and super interesting and super meaningful unsolved (or insufficiently-solved) problems abound, but this silliness is just shirking all the gritty cool shit, isn't it?

h/t @nyanbinary@Viss @jeffers00n @nyanbinary yay!
Vive la révolution!
(although, evolution preferably... i offer myself to the commons for the cause, lol)

h/t @nyanbinary@Viss @jeffers00n @nyanbinary a couple years back i got depressed about softwaring because of this ~'AI' silliness coming down the pike, but of late it is SO BAD i feel incrementally fired up, renewed
riffing wildly, maybe software, because of its peculiar nature (this reified perfection of causality) is a good, stark example of why things should be done by people who love the things...because when not, the error compounds exponentially, and we get *this* (gestures wildly all around)

h/t @nyanbinary@Viss @jeffers00n @nyanbinary aww i remember almost nothing about the book now, but the one lady hacking away feverishly on that was a standout for me at the time, it seemed so cool, in like a 'obvious in retrospect' way... but actually living it derpishly like this is... i dunno

(also, hello fediverse! 2nd ~post, woo! and hello fediverse person... you gave me lovely positive feedback in *minutes*... i like this!)
