@xgranade I don't like it either, I saw someone else on here (can't find it anymore, sorry) say that it's because it turns computers from the deterministic machines we love back into the nondeterministic things we dislike

I read an interesting book recently about the influence New York (New Amsterdam) has had on broader American culture. Saying that that is “English-Scottish-Irish” is pretty wide of the mark. How about French (Louisiana), Spanish, African influences?

Over the last few weeks I have noticed a behaviour in myself.@jokeyrhyme @mike In the EU, the ones where you have to deselect a gazillion cookies are actually malicious non-compliance, they have been found illegal. Unfortunately there isn’t much enforcement, so it mostly continues.
