@futurebird not entirely sure if I understand the problem correctly. However it seems with the "Slow Mode" (/settings/preferences/appearance) enabled in the web view, I can open posts, then click "Back" and arrive at the exact same point in my timeline. New posts aren't loaded into the feed automatically, but show up if you click the button to reveal them. I don't know if that's how you want to use Mastodon (or maybe already do and I didn't get it), but I think it's worth a try.

One thing that happens way too much on mastodon is I see a cool post but click away too fast... then? -
"The way they have behaved here is profoundly harmful and I would deem it a type of psychological torture from corprotate neglect."What he has actually done is strip-mine the trust and labor of every creator who took that promise seriously.
Oh no! shocked Pikachu face Nobody knew the company known for it's exploitative, greedy and user-hostile behavior for more than a decade would do such a thing.
I mean sure, sucks for the people caught in that now. But it's also on you if you decide to trust a company that just changed it's name because the bad press got out of hand (at the time).
Come on.
Zuck was once the evil guy, until he got outshined by Bezos, Musk, Thiel & co. (still is though)
