@ascentale @xtaran @bikenite Worth pointing out that I wouldn’t choose to use one for a recreational bike ride, just pure utility of point a to b. I usually leave the house with no solid plan on how I’m getting somewhere. If the bus isn’t there, I get a bike. If the bus is pulling up and not crowded, I jump on. I pay annually. It’s not cheap until you compare it to having a bike stolen (or having a car of course).

@xtaran asks:@ascentale @xtaran @bikenite I've become dependent on bike share and haven't ridden one of my own bikes for a long time. Most of my trips throughout the city are multi-modal: walking, biking, train/bussing. I don't want to worry about the bike or where I locked it up or if I get a flat tire, picking it up the next day, etc. I just pick one up and drop it off. I might get a ride home or walk. It's added a lot of flexibility to my transit.

With all the tiktok drama I have been telling people Mastodon is still here and kicking!!@taylorlorenz Some of the earlier issues and complaints have been addressed (like quoting). Discovery is still a big barrier, but being worked on. And one of the big issues is following a link to a mastodon post on the web and not being logged in because it’s not your server. I imagine only browser/extension support could solve that one.
