I already had the windows version of Alpha Centauri, so I didn't want to spend my limited pocket money on it.
The one retailer that carried Loki games though only ever seemed to have stuff like Quake III.
@SwiftOnSecurity The Loki logo is pure nostalgia, even though my Linux boxes at the time weren't capable of running 3d games.
@MiaWinter I can't hear the noise since my high frequency hearing has declined over the years, but if I had to guess, I would suspect coil whine from the boost converter.
I believe e-paper displays use a "high" voltage pulse to do a full refresh.
