There are some classic dual-receiver, detachable head, 50W VHF/UHF #amateurradio transceivers that were discontinued but live on as clones or heavily inspired tributes@flyingsaceur I loathe that radio a lot. such limited mounting options due to the clock radio head unit's jaunty angle. If you can get your hands on one, a ic-7000 is sweet as hell.
I use a 7300 for hf in my jeep, along side the 2730 and my ancient original hf mobile solution 706IIG for all-mode u/v and 6m. I drive a wrangler so lots of room overhead where a fabric headliner is not, and no kids so lots of room for the detached chassis etc where the back seat is not. -

oddly it's rotary is great but the vol pot is hell on earth. "will i adjust the volume or twist this knob off the pcb?"
in my jeep everything is icom, now. after years of various chinesium uv rigs like you mentioned I just got fed up one day and bought a 2370. at the time the price wasn't all that different than anything else. its killer feature is the remote head.
