OMG this is EXACTLY what I’m talking about.
This is shifting the blame on to Canadians rather than on the US

Accountability means the US needs to own their own mess.
Fucked around and finding out.

@DrGecko I think it’s intentional and abusers are abusing. It’s DARVO https://harbormentalhealth.com/2025/10/31/darvo-manipulation-how-to-spot-and-protect-yourself/
@robyn yes the irony of it all is completely missed too it seems !
@adelinej I’m glad they understood. I’ve said something to some folks and was called a snowflake for not wanting to go.
It’s a very defensive posture after the US causing the offense.
Abusers handbook with the DARVO
It’s ridiculous.
Also if you are an American reading this, I’ll be clear: it’s not hard feelings.
It’s the threats of annexation
It’s the support of separatists
It’s the demanding access to all social media
It’s the killing of citizens and non citizens
It’s the concentration camps
It’s the support that the above has by Americans who are totally cool with what’s happening.
Yeah 25% off at a ski hill in Maine doesn’t deal with ANY of that.
It’s so weird seeing American folks worried about the drop in Canadian tourism and saying it’s due to Canadians having “hard feelings” and wondering why we can’t just put them aside.
It’s gaslighting and yet another reason not to go. Yeesh.
Today I dealt with a student using “gay” as an insult.
To be fair to the kid, I see grown adult men using gay as an insult right here on the fediverse.
(Especially when attempting to insult male politicians that they don’t like.)
Men on here are too often homophobic and I’m tired of it.
It’s not an insult to be queer and if you use gay/queer as a joke/insult then you are part of the problem and not here for equality.
Your words have impact.
Do better.
