I have an OG Steam Controller, and a SteamDeck.

TouchPads are fucking fantastic, Gyro is Amazing, and I would not go back to a controller that doesn't have it, Back Paddles (or buttons) are great for some games (like Driving games, they become paddle shifts), the list goes on.

The controller is everything I want out of a modern controller.

It's honestly what I'd consider the minimum for a good PC controller these days.

You know what's hilarious?

2. It was $100 USD. A PS5 controller with similar features is $200 USD.

@foone Check the BIOS of the machine; You might be able to tell it to expose USB Mass Storage devices as Hard Drives. If you can, then you should be able to plug in a thumb drive with your files on it before booting, assuming you have DOS installed already.

@jay Yep! The difference between us is LUKS which prevents Plymouth from starting up afaik.

All present in my initrd.

nVidia's drivers just have a ~2 second startup time.

Hey #NixOS maintainers - I found a fix for nVidia Drivers not letting Plymouth work on my machine. I have to do

 boot.initrd.systemd.services.plymouth-start = {
  after = [ "systemd-modules-load.service" ];
  requires = [ "systemd-modules-load.service" ];
};

So that it starts after the nvidia driver.

(Specifically, with systemd initrd)

...Who do I report this to on nixpkgs? nVidia? Plymouth?

(Context: Plymouth manages to start up in about 0.6 seconds, and then gets booted out at 2.somthing seconds when the nVidia driver starts up)

@abmurrow I have Plasma-manager installed but the struggle is real.

Also I don't see any way to configure Desktop Icons in Plasma Manager (though it's entirely possible I missed it)

I want to use #KDE but does anyone have any practical examples on #NixOS of doing things like configuring desktops to have no icons, disabling the stop between displays, configuring widgets, setting the theme?

On Gnome I have it turned to the point where if I install my OS, everything except monitor arrangement is already configured. Pinned Icons, Icons, Extensions, Settings across the board.
