Six weeks ago, we captured an injured eagle in SW Portland. -
We could just scrap TSA and go back to having airports & airlines be responsible for their own security.@normative.bsky.social Even if we maintained passenger inspection as a federal responsibility, I'd expect we'd get a better mission focus and better results if the TSA was rolled up under the DOT.
Although I read at one point individual airports could opt-out of using TSA agents, and SFO was an airport that had done so. Not sure if that's no longer possible, but I'm positive at one point it was.

Whoa, that escalated quickly.@briankrebs This is an incredibly weird move from the Executive that also suspended the investigation into Salt Typhoon, and has spent most of its tenure nerfing both cyber and conventional security operations in lieu of chasing around line cooks and gardeners.

Absolutely maddening game when I was a kid 😂RE: https://bsky.app/profile/did:plc:vdishdmpsww7b3e4ey7hx53t/post/3mhmmfq7gdk2q@gregdoucette.bsky.social Was Temple of Apshai on 2600, or just C64?

Kash Patel announces FBI will lead a 21 gun salute for Mueller's funeral, featuring t-shirt cannons@donmoyn.bsky.social We live in such times that I, irony poisoned as I am, cannot tell how much of this statement is truthful.

Your off-the-grid AI solution for the post-singularitarian apocalypse@bruces I, uh ... cool. Cool beans, team.

My son Saxon is so based.@donmoyn.bsky.social There is so much performative bullshit in that thread. No one gives a shit what you order to drink in LA, and your dad is a dumbass to take you to a restaurant where you hate the food. Classic Elon.

americans don't want ground troops in iran@ianbremmer I think you'd be hard pressed to find a single cohort of US voters of any stripe who want to put boots on the ground in Iran.

May your St. Patrick’s Day be full of fun.@spaf Evergreen.

Just the craziest fucking sanewashing of Trump's weird shoe micromanaging by the NYT@willrosecrans.com Wtf. This is classic dictator shit. What is the Times doing?!

Hegemonic suicideRE: https://bsky.app/profile/did:plc:6m7rbdgaz5vyg4bnbefi7kh6/post/3mh7qglarak2d@donmoyn.bsky.social In fairness, Canadians have been suspicious and distrustful of Americans for decades, but we have always been fans of dim sum.

This is a lie on a scale of Elon Musk saying he would cut the deficit to zero.@donmoyn.bsky.social I'd ask if he's offering this assessment while drunk, but a little tipple might actually make him less of a rancid shart, so ... no, he's just a stupid bigot.

By the way, in case you're missing it, Marc Andreessen has been showing himself up as a really ignorant fool.@sdarlington @ianbetteridge Came here to say this. To suggest I was "missing it" is to imply a charitable feeling on my part that is wholly absent in my person.

By the way, in case you're missing it, Marc Andreessen has been showing himself up as a really ignorant fool.@ianbetteridge The bar for him to do that is unbelievably low. Fascism would honestly be slightly more tolerable if these goons weren't all such epic dipshits.

How do you possibly run a gambling website that gives people opportunity to profit off wars and then threaten journalists to edit their stories to let them win their bets and live with yourself the next morning?@SeanCasten 404 Media recently dubbed them "the Depravity Economy", and I think that's perfect.

It’s wild to work in tech at a time when tech CEOs are trying their best to look and sound like cartoon supervillains.@carnage4life Cartoon supervillains who ALSO think they're curing cancer AND splitting the atom simultaneously.

Last month at a conference, someone came up to me and excitedly asked me what I thought about prediction markets.@natematias 404 Media recently referred to this as "the Depravity Economy", and I can't think of a better label.

This was a pretty cool (and very sad) exploration of the country of Nauru.@chad The Power Corrupts podcast had a terrific episode on Nauru: "the Billion Dollar Shack". Worth a listen as well.
The Billion Dollar Shack
We all know that offshore areas of financial secrecy exist. In this episode, we're going to take a look at the origin story of one of them. It's a story that wi

More rumors about Trump thinking about restarting the draft.@ai6yr @jmorris @Dhmspector @lauren You jest, but that's pretty much how it works in Russia. Rich kids get deferments and exemptions, poor kids end up in the meat grinder.

Trump has managed to bring the Iranian people together in support of their leadership like hasn't been seen in many years.@PeterLudemann @lauren I'm currently in Toronto and have a handful of Persian friends here who mostly like Canada. Seeing a bunch of Iranian flags on cars, though, it seems like we're at least not on the side of the US in this one.
