I can't be trusted with one of these. My house would look like an illustration in a Richard Scarry children's book.

This may be the real reason that Ms. Killick doesn't think roof-top solar is a good fit for us...she knows me so well.

Ah yes, the infamous "Hanging Chad" in Palm Beach County.
Can't use QR codes because they're now illegal? Use a bar code instead. Or use a frigging scan-tron-- a tech that's been machine-reading paper for 50 years or more, but just print it instead of having people using #2 pencils.
I use LibreOffice now, and OpenOffice back in the day, but the problem I always encounter is that MSFT products don't render open document formats properly. They struggle with the formatting. That was always seen as a problem, somehow, for LibreOffice, but more and more, I think it's going to be seen as a problem for Microsoft.
You want a digital world for kids, then go ahead and create it and leave the internet alone. The internet is for everyone, but it's not a nursery. If it's not safe for your kid, don't let your kid use it. Use that Digital World thing you want, whatever that is.
What, exactly, is so hard about telling your child no?
I'd love one. How is it for passenger safety? It looks like the cab is the crumple zone.
Fantastic!
If the Cardinals, the Sparrows, and the Robins would shut up! for 30 seconds I might be able to make out which sound it is that the Merlin app indicates is a Blue-Gray Gnatcatcher.
I really do like Merlin's "Sound ID" option. It's like the Shazam song ID app, but instead of human music, it IDs avian music. I haven't tried playing 4 different songs at once for Shazam, tho.
Ok, for once in my life, I'm on Waymo's side on this. You're focusing on the car. Focus instead on the people. Taxis have been stopping in travel lanes to discharge and pick up passengers ever since we have had taxis. Now we're supposed to expect taxis to NOT drop off and pick up at the curb because bike lanes are somehow different from other travel lanes? If I'm driving a taxi, I'm going to let my PEDESTRIANS out at the sidewalk. I'm not going to ask them to get out of my cab in the middle of the street.Yes, it's a dedicated bike lane, but it's not sacrosanct. Waymo isn't in the bike lane just for the hell of it. Would you like to get out of a cab and step into a the path of a biker?
