@thomholwerda this is nothing new. The American military only achieves tactical successes, while suffering strategic defeat, which leads to the only war that U.S military ever "wins" ( not that there are winners in wars ) is the one it has with it's defense budget.
That's it's superpower it's military might, it defeats the budget.
It spent 20 years in Afghanistan and when it finally admitted defeat and fled, it left the opposition better armed then when it arrived...
It's also the most successful campaign for de-dollarization, nations are dumping U.S bonds like it's the plague and changing their loans in USD to some other currency.
Nations world wide are also re-thinking their strategic security partnership with the U.S after the U.S could not even defend it's own bases in the Middle East and now after it depleted itself, is seizing nations weapons procurement for themselves...
@sesivany this new thorium based Gen 4 nuclear technology makes nuclear reactors inherently safe, which in turn makes any sort of NIMBY arguments mute really. ( China is about to put those into commercial ships )
And without abundance of cheap electricity, no country in Europe will be able to compete with East Asia on industrial level so that mindset needs to change for future generations.
In China they are already moving into factory/dc sized, mobile & ocean/floating platforms solutions.
@sesivany I would have thought that Czechia would be all over Gen 4 Thorium-based nuclear power .
The Chinese are busy coming of with SMR's in all shapes and size, which will outproduce any windmill(s) during it's lifetime and can have a footprint of an truck ( since it quite literally can come on one )
Have the Americans convinced Czechia to shutdown it's nuclear plants like it did in Germany and de-industrialize itself in the process?
