I'm hopeful that we don't forget that and let it fail like so many others. Internet sites should be treated the way we should treat city parks.

Society needs nourishment and cultivation. We can't just keep expecting others to do the work. The Fedi (to some groups) seem to embrace that but there are things we could do to improve things.
