bye fedora :(@fiore @coolbean It's probably not worth building if it's AI generated though.
Something weird is happening with the commits from the claude account, & it seems to happen for every repository I see it listed as a contributor on. Between ten & twenty commits made in a single day & none of them are visible on GitHub in any branch for any tag.

I might want to see how you do it if you try so I can learn
https://github.com/matinlotfali/KDE-Rounded-CornersIt has a KDE store page but no actual package on it for some reason. I'm pretty sure desktop effects get a special universal package for Plasma instead of the operating system.

bye fedora :(@fiore @coolbean Maybe when I stop having an unstable living situation & being broke I will learn how

I tried building it from source but it didn't work. I don't know the names of packages it depends on for Chimera & I tried installing literally everything mentioned for all the other operating systems it does actually have guides for just incase & that didn't work.

bye fedora :(@coolbean @fiore I like Fedora alot, but it's suffering from techbros infecting it with AI generated shit & also systemd is rotting.
I didn't convert a Fedora install to Chimera. I made a list of directories & files I needed to transplant to have the same setup after manually installing the same software, then made a .tar file using the list as input. After that I made a complete backup of my SSD with CloneZilla to be safe, then I wiped the partition table & installed Chimera. When I was done installing Chimera I read my list of software that I need to have my desktop look the same & installed everything that was available (no KDE-Rounded-Corners available for Chimera
), then logged in as root & extracted the .tar file to /, then I rebooted & my desktop was there. I just had to manually edit a few settings that had been in files I missed. -

I hate that the DLSS 5 bullshit is not meant for us.@Adorable_Sergal What is DLSS? Is that that nondeterministic automatic tweening thing to fake higher framerates while simultaneously doubling your power bill or halving your battery life & making video look like shit?

GIANT BAPPERS APPRECIATION POST -
well, here's a wacky one.@davidgerard @Pholostan Isn't the serial number in the UEFI or printed on the motherboard too? Maybe they swapped the bottom panel (where the serial number is printed) to a replacement laptop. That would be an extremely lazy & fast way to do "repairs" while making it seem like nothing is wrong.

well, here's a wacky one.@davidgerard I guess it's time to start stripping our computers before sending them for warranty repairs!

Lutris now being built with Claude AI, developer decides to hide it after backlash https://www.gamingonlinux.com/2026/03/lutris-now-being-built-with-claude-ai-developer-decides-to-hide-it-after-backlash/@gamingonlinux I used to recommend Lutris for people trying to move to Linux who play games. I guess I can't anymore.

I'm sure it'll be fine that my resume-pdf-builder script has a silent error mode where it can insert "BAZINGA" into my resume@foone Include "wrote a script that automatically updates my resume, adds 'BAZINGA' to the resume if there's an error" on your resume.
