When a roller coaster's track goes upside down it's not always called a loop. The actual term is "inversion" which encompasses a wide variety of loops, rolls, and combinations thereof (for example a "cobra roll" is two half loops connected by a pair of twists in opposite directions such that the track looks like the outline of a cobra's head).
Bonus fact: the distinctive clacking noise as one gets pulled up its lift hill is not caused by the chain itself, but rather a ratchet besides it designed to catch the ride vehicle so it doesn't fall back down and crash into something in the event of a malfunction. -
