The site now also has pages for Contribution Guidelines for anyone who wishes to provide feedback or to contribute (which you can do here on Mastodon just fine as well), and for the Themes concept in case you want to know more about how those work. Themes are a fun way to "dress up" the Techne material in case you find it a little dry.

And then there are the numerous little fixes to typos, small improvements in the text, etc. Techne is always improving, and does so with feedback and contributions from people like you. Follow this account for updates!

    **Big changes for Techne!**

First of all is mostly behind the scenes, but I have started using a program called Hugo (https://gohugo.io) for making the website, which will speed up my workflow. Not only that, but Hugo comes with themes that offer many features, including layouts that I can only dream of, built-in search function, menus, charts by code, etc. I'm really excited about it, and the whole site has a fresh new look as well. Be sure to check it out and let me know what you think!

There is also some new content as we progress towards version 0.4. Level 1, Topic 1: How to Use This Program now has an Intermediate level lesson, giving more advice on using Techne, making it easier, and making options clearer.

Science (Level 2, Topic 5) also got the Intermediate treatment (a bit out of sequence, but I was inspired), with not only more to learn about science itself, but full lessons on Chaos Theory, Evolution, and Ecology. So why these subjects then? They do all relate to many of the other topics in the program, and having a basic understanding of them does have benefits for your life too. If you want any more convincing, just check out the Why These Topics in the first lesson's introduction, or Why This Matters in each subject, just like with every topic in the program.

    H hephaestus@mindly.social

One of the things I like about the Techne System is how interconnected all the topics are. I think that, like me, most people are used to how traditional schools teach subjects that are completely isolated from each other, making each one its own challenge. But in this program, every topic is related somehow to at least some of the other topics, while many are connected to most of the others.

Why does this matter? Because they support each other. Each lesson you learn enhances your understanding of others. Learning about Science helps you understand Psychology. Psychology helps you with Emotion Management. Emotion Management helps you with Critical Thinking. Critical Thinking helps you with Communication Skills. Communication Skills helps you with Community & Cooperation, which itself expands into every level 3 topic, from Systems Thinking to Social Change Strategies. And that's just the tip of the iceberg.

So the more topics you learn, the more each topic enhances your understanding of other topics, the more skilled and capable you become in anything you want to do. And each topic makes those connections clear too.
