Well apparently this actually happened to those who had ventured farther out to Pörtö, Söderskär and others. Someone decided to open the ice around Pörtö.
I e-mailes the authorities asking if they post a message beforehand. Apparently not, and they don't recommend people moving on the ice. Weird reply. Why couldn't they post a warning for people living on those islands?
