I just had an interview for a job that I realized I am not only super unqualified for, but qualified enough to know they weren’t even asking for enough qualifications. -

Help needed: my user home uses 12GB of space.@al3x Very odd…
Might be worth trying out DaisyDisk. I’ve used it for years and never had any issue with it not being able to see restricted files. Might be worth checkout out the trial just to see if it works for you.
DaisyDisk, the most popular disk space analyzer
Get a visual breakdown of your disk space in form of an interactive map, reveal the biggest space wasters, and remove them with a simple drag and drop.

Other than that, I am at a loss. I’ve never seen those files take up 200GB before.

From what I can see, you should be able to activate “Admin mode” in Space Gremlin Pro (assuming its not the App Store version)
Edit Sorry I was wrong, it looks like you have to start the app as root https://www.spacegremlinapp.com/mac/faq.html#:~:text=in%20any%20mode.-,How%20do%20I%20scan%20Restricted%20Space%3F,-Scanning%20Restricted%20Space
