Motability cars are awarded to individuals who receive certain disability benefits, such as the higher rate mobility component of #Disability Living Allowance or the enhanced rate of Personal Independence Payment. The criteria both are really quite strict & controlled

For PIP, for the Mobility component, Enhanced Rate requires a minimum of 12 points

Eg "you cannot walk 20 meters aided OR unaided"

Braverman has said she will rip up the Equalities Act on Day One

“social and gender transitioning will be banned in all schools, no ifs no buts”.

#disability charity Sense said that removing the protections afforded by the Equalities Act would be a “significant step backwards” and would “increase uncertainty and risk for millions of disabled people and their families

When questioned, she was somewhat flummoxed when told the Equalities Act guaranteed Maternity Pay

But, what would she know

The British Museum has removed the word #Palestine from displays about the ancient Middle East following complaints.

Maps and information boards about ancient Egypt and the seafaring Phoenicians labelled the eastern coast of the Mediterranean as Palestine, and some peoples were described as being “of Palestinian descent”

And so the British Museum has decided to remove that word.
